"After interviewing several photographers for our son's Bar Mitzvah and not being impressed or excited by any of them, my wife and I came across a Josh Barry album at the home of an acquaintance. We were struck by the unique beauty of the album -neither of us had ever seen anything like it. We asked our hosts about the photographer, and they could not stop raving about him. For me each family is unique and I want to create original pieces that they will cherish for years to come. I always create images with the next generation in mind, I want their children to look at their images and cherish them as much as they do. Each family brings their own story therefore each wedding, or Mitzvah is not just an event but rather a cluster of moments they can relieve through my imagery. My goal is to capture the essence of their event  and those unseen moments.

Welcome to my website - It has been my pleasure to have photographed over 200 Weddings and Mitzvahs in my time as a photographer. Creating a client experience my clients can really remember along with imagery that leaves them with a positive emotional impact is something I am glad to have been able to deliver on. Not bad for a guy who initially wanted to be a racecar mechanic. I'll never forget the first time someone saw value in my talents. That wave of confidence has carried my through the past two decades and your continued patronage will carry me through the next two!!! Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Virginia families have welcomed me into their lives for over 18 years and I look forward to a happy 18 more years. Click below to read my journey into photography...

Read My Story

I contacted Josh Barry Photography initially because during the album creation process for my last child's mitzvah we experienced more problems than any one person should have to deal with. I knew this time around I wanted someone with the same creative nature, knew how to think outside the box and could do magic digitally with the album. I resorted to my best known way to find someone, the internet and Josh's website and I crossed paths and I was instantly hooked. I was concerned and needed someone honest, whose business was sound, and knew and understood what we had experienced previously.
After gathering information about Josh Barry photography I decided to invest with the Josh Barry Photography because of my meeting with him. He made the effort to come to Olney to meet with me and my friend and showed us samples of his work. He was excited to break into this area and really listened to what I wanted and needed.
During Zach's Bar Mitzvah my family and I were treated absolutely wonderfully while working with Josh Barry Photography
The first time I saw my portraits I was floored. He was able to capture so many wonderful moments at my son's Bar Mitzvah and everyone has commented on how absolutely beautiful the pictures are. I know this sounds cliché - but we wanted to work with someone that would help us create memories to last a life time. He was really able to capture the entire mood of the event. Josh Barry Photography did that for us.
Besides my wedding many moons ago, this was our third Mitzvah and by far the best experience we have had with a photographer. In addition, seeing him at many more events in our area these past several months, we feel like Josh is a part of our family!
